                       'FAT' ultralight to E-LSA

 

The STEPS & the DATES to convert your 'FAT' ultralight to E-LSA (Experimental Light Sport Aircraft)

The FAA's Aircraft Registration office would like to remind all individuals converting aircraft into the E-LSA that there is a Jan 31, 2008 deadline for FULL-completion of inspections & paperwork.

The FAA will ONLY guarantee that your registration & certification packet will be reviewed by the deadline, if...

bulletBy AUGUST 15, 2007: Aircraft registration (request for N#) has been received by the  FAA's Aircraft Registration office
bulletBy OCTOBER 1, 2007:  You have scheduled a DAR for your Airworthiness Inspection
bulletBy NOVEMBER 30, 2007:  You have submitted your DAR's Airworthiness certificate packet
 
If you fail to complete any of the above steps, the FAA will not guarantee the completion of your conversion to E-LSA process by the January deadline.

And failing to meet the deadline - could mean failing to convert and stay legal.
